Description
The likeness of a wolf has been hand carved from onyx marble by Peruvian artisans. Stone animals fit easily into gift baskets, shadow boxes and are attractive when put in plants, in the window or a Zen garden.
Onyx is a banded variety of chalcedony. The colors of its bands range from white to almost every color (save some shades, such as purple or blue). Commonly, specimens of onyx contain bands of black and/or white. Onyx is thought to increase regeneration, happiness, intuition and instincts.
In animal symbolism, the wolf is thought of as teacher and pathfinder. Though wolves are considered fierce, they are actually a very social; intelligent and friendly animal. They show us the importance of family and friends; the pack is a wolf's large facet of meaningful survival.
